Canadian journalist and media scholar, born in Montreal, my home until age 26 except for my college years in Bryn Mawr, Pa. Moved to Ottawa in 1978, where we lived until 2006. Lived in Cleveland and Cleveland Heights, Ohio, 2006-2022. Now retired, living in Perth, Ontario, Canada.
Journalism experience: News & Chronicle (Pointe Claire, Que.), North Shore News (Pierrefonds, Que., reporter), Ottawa Journal (stringer), Canadian Geographic (intern), Ottawa Citizen (reporter and editor, 12 years).
Other work experience: Ayerst Laboratories (research assistant in biochemical pharmacology); Ottawa-Carleton Health Department (public health research, writing).

Teaching experience: Carleton University School of Journalism & Communication (sessional/adjunct, 7 years); John Carroll University (full-time professor, August 2009-May 2022, tenured in 2014, retired 2022).
